AFP - Mayorga tested positive after loss to de la Hoya - report
Saturday, January 3rd, 2009 LAS VEGAS, United States (AFP) — Nicaraguan Ricardo Mayorga reportedly faces a ban and fine for testing positive for a banned diuretic after losing to Oscar de la Hoya.
According the Las Vegas Review-Journal report, the Nevada Athletic Commission could impose a suspension and take a portion of Mayorga’s share of the pay-per-view profits from Saturday’s title bout, which de la Hoya won here by stopping the champion in the sixth round.
